Sharks & Hammers

Posted in Cool sites by sanchovi on 29/11/2009

As soon as I hit Vancouver I’m chasing a squirrel around Stanley Park for about 3-4 days followed closely by seeing how much maple syrup I can drink. After that I’m heading straight to Sharks & Hammers.

For those of you that live in Intraweb Land and not in Vancouver I suggest that you check out their blog and grab some fresh gems like the tees below at their online  store.

Triple word score

I was fortunate enough to witness a trifector of bum bags on the streets of Melbourne. The “bum bag” or “fanny pack” will always be at the front-line in the fashion vs. practicality war.

More fanny pack photos can be found at FANNY PACK ANTICS and FANNY PACK PHOTOS.

Old mate

Posted in Photography by sanchovi on 22/11/2009

I thought old mate was doing the crossword as we ate breakfast at 2pm. On closer inspection he was filling out a betting slip for the trots.
This is the black and white version with the shadows darkened to give the old man a glum feeling of loneliness. You can view the original image HERE.

Bacon explosion!

Posted in Photography by sanchovi on 21/11/2009

Probably the best thing anyone could ever bring to a BBQ. People were a bit skeptical at first but almost everyone was hooked after one nibble. It took 1.2kg of bacon, 2 packets of Italian sausage and a lot of love to make. I can’t describe how delicious it was.

Twilight sailing

Posted in Photography by sanchovi on 18/11/2009

The sun goes down at about 9pm in Melbourne these days so it’s a good opportunity to hit the beach… or go sailing if you’re into that type of thing. It was my first trip out on a sailboat. There wasn’t much wind around so we did more bobbing up and down than sailing but I managed to get some rather nice silhouette shots of the sunset.

Coast with the most

Posted in Photography by sanchovi on 17/11/2009

Here are a few images I shot on my recent holiday (from not working) that show some key elements of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.

Police. Lots of them with not much to do besides fine motorists. I wonder if they found Danial Morcombe‘s abductor or any of the drugs or money that went missing from Maroochydore Police Station… probably not. However, they do a great job of handing out fines for such dangerous crimes as having your stereo too loud.

Australia Zoo. Sure it’s run like a business but it should definitely be on your to do list if you’re visiting from out of town.

Old people. Far too many of them. The one’s who retire there to lay in the sun all day and turn into human handbags are cool. At least they’re using the coast to it’s full potential. It’s the one’s that get around in those whisper quiet scooters who shit me when they run you over.

Beaches. Some of the best melanoma farms around.
