The Sanchovi

Thirty odd stories of grunt

Posted in Photography by sanchovi on 07/01/2010

Freddy was nice enough to invite my uncle and I to the roof deck of his apartment building to watch the sunset. Unfortunately the God’s of traffic and elevators didn’t want us to see the sunset. The view was amazing none the less.

A few lessons were learnt on this shoot.

  • Don’t use auto focus in low light conditions. Rookie mistake. I have a bunch of out of focus long exposure shots that make me cry when I look at them.
  • Don’t look like you’re going to take photos in Manila. The guard at the entrance thought I was a professional and wasn’t going to let me up because I was carrying a tripod.
  • Plan ahead. Be at the location well before sunset, especially if you have to drive through Manila traffic.

I was happy with the couple of shots I managed to salvage.
What do you think?
