Surfs up

Posted in Photography by sanchovi on 04/08/2013

On a weekend away to Aireys Inlet, my friend Tommy lent me his L series 100-400mm lens to take some shots of them surfing. Everyone had a gnarly time and here are some of the results. If it’s your first time using the internet, you can click on any of the pictures for a larger version.

Three girls, three horses, a man and his dog, and some footprints in the sand.

Tommy’s dog dug a hole. Isn’t it funny how no matter where you are in the world, if you dig a hole too far you end up in China? I wonder what people in China say when they dig a big hole?

It’s the middle of Winter and it was quite overcast but the lens was a dream to use even though it weighed a tonne! That being said, I could comfortably move to a beach somewhere and take photos of dudes ‘shredding’ all day while using top shelf equipment. I’d just have to build a tripod out of coconuts, lobsters or starfish or something. Be sure to let me know if you hear of any jobs going. I’m always on the lookout for a permanent vacation. YEW!

Do you need a hand?

Melbourne can seem overwhelming during the day, but after dark the crowds thin and shop fronts become illuminated to draw focus on subjects you would normally walk straight past.

Sometimes you need a hand. Most people have two of them. If you had four things would be twice as easy right? I mean it’s simple mathematics. Wrong. If you had four hands you would be labeled a freak and would have to live in a sewer somewhere with pizza loving turtles. So sometimes it’s nice to help people out so their life is easier and they don’t feel like freaks. Remember this commercial?

Coast with the most

Posted in Photography by sanchovi on 17/11/2009

Here are a few images I shot on my recent holiday (from not working) that show some key elements of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.

Police. Lots of them with not much to do besides fine motorists. I wonder if they found Danial Morcombe‘s abductor or any of the drugs or money that went missing from Maroochydore Police Station… probably not. However, they do a great job of handing out fines for such dangerous crimes as having your stereo too loud.

Australia Zoo. Sure it’s run like a business but it should definitely be on your to do list if you’re visiting from out of town.

Old people. Far too many of them. The one’s who retire there to lay in the sun all day and turn into human handbags are cool. At least they’re using the coast to it’s full potential. It’s the one’s that get around in those whisper quiet scooters who shit me when they run you over.

Beaches. Some of the best melanoma farms around.
