The Sanchovi

You never know what you’re going to get.

Here are some shots from the most recent roll of film I got developed from my Pentax K1000. I knew that the roll had been in there for a while but I was surprised when I received pictures from my trip to Canada over a year ago! The first few pictures are from a weekend trip to Kelowna (Canada) to watch Aussie rules. I’m pretty sure I watched more Aussie Rules in Canada than I had watched in my whole life previous to my trip.

The next few are from a bright sunny day in Melbourne at the end of Winter.

I grew up in a nice part of the world called the Sunshine Coast. I snapped this shot at Mooloolava on a recent trip back to see the folks.

On that short trip, I managed to escape with my friends down to Coffs Harbor. We hung out and walked dogs on beaches, did a tiny bit of 4WDing and watched the World Rally Championships. I’ll upload pics from the rally soon.

The last pic is my favourite. It’s my friend Kristy checking emails or Facebook or Twitter. Remember when phones just use to make phone calls?

Trying to get ahead

I would like to see Vancouver’s budget for public art funding. There is a tonne of it!
I have been searching for the location of this particular piece for about a month after seeing photos of it online. Today was my lucky day!… until I got home and discovered that I had been shooting in 640×480 file format. Oh well, I guess the pics are good enough for you guys and gals on the web. It’s going to bug me if I don’t go back and shoot it again. This time I’ll check all my settings before I start.

I never watched this show at all when I was growing up, but it’s all I could think about when I was taking this photo. The theme song even popped into my head. Well, the tune did. I don’t actually know the words.

Time trap

This photo was taken in East Vancouver. I like the result that a film camera and aged design deliver. If I didn’t know any better, I could swear that this picture was taken in the 1960’s or 70’s.
