Booster

Posted in Photography by sanchovi on 20/12/2010

Melbourne, Australia.

I found this sprinkler booster system pretty interesting. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how everyday objects were actually designed by someone and that their time and effort is usually overlooked as we use the item or simply walk by it.

Wanna race?

San Diego, California. September 2010.

My goal this Summer is to get my motorcycle license. I’ve only ever been on  a motorcycle once. That was as a passenger but it brought such a smile to my face. Maybe it was the freedom. Maybe it was the speed. Maybe it was the fact that my flatmate was trying to pull monos at high speed. I survived and have been wanting one for about 10 years. I think 2011 is the year to make it happen, or to at least get my license. I think I’m mature enough not to kill myself. Not so sure about my younger years.

Back on the horse

Posted in Uncategorized by sanchovi on 12/12/2010

You may have noticed that there has been a long drink in between posts at The Sanchovi. I’d like to apologize for that. You see, I under estimated how difficult it would be to come back from a 10 month trip overseas and just pick up where I left off. To cut a long story short, it doesn’t work like that at all. It’s lucky I came to the early realization that it’s ok to make mistakes (as long as you learn something from them) and sometimes you have to take one step back to take two steps forwards. I’m glad to be back in Melbourne, Australia. I’m also glad to have full access to the internet. Only accessing it by phone for 2 months was no fun at all! My trip taught me a lot of things and I am looking forward to a productive 2011. I have a few projects on the drawing board so keep your eyes on the blog for more than photos next year! So you have my word that The Sanchovi will have regular updates from my photographic adventures.

Wu-tang killah bees

Posted in Photography by sanchovi on 12/12/2010

I’ve been trying to get outside of my comfort zone lately. I haven’t had to try too hard. It seems like my life timing is no so good lately. So on a trip down to Geelong I sat for a few minutes as bees buzzed away collecting honey for the government (we all know that bees work for the Queen and the Queen owns Australia) and snapped a few shots with my perv lens. I think I got some nice shots as they flew around the Dragon Fire Pollen Lilly (may not actually be the real name of the flower).
